Navigating the Unknown

As we focus this month on the fifth thresholding skill, “Navigating the Unknown,” we turn our attention toward the signs around us and within us that offer guidance when we don’t know exactly where we’re going. Sometimes these signs offer clarity; more often, on the threshold, they may be hard to read or even offer conflicting directions. Consider the signs I encountered today, while walking my dog. Which way was I to go?

The first step in knowing where to go, on or off the threshold, is to notice where we are. Today’s video offers a simple practice for orienting ourselves to that spot on any map — and in our own awareness — known as “You Are Here.”

We’ll explore this together next Tuesday, May 16, in an online session of guided reflection, writing and conversation. Please join me if you’re interested.

Paid subscribers to Threshold Times can register free using the button link at the bottom of the email.
